Specs, Review and Comparison
iSymphony is a manufacturer of consumer electronics that was widely unknown before the christmas season 2010 but then suddenly rocked the sales charts of Amazon with it’s HDTVs. Time to have a look if a iSymphony HDTV is a good choice and if the quality can keep up with the very attractive price. The company has an official office in the United States at Conog Park, CA, very important since many other rather unknown brands do not have any representation in the US, so this is a good sign for sure. The screen technology used comes from Viore, a company that is around in the HDTV market for many years.
The HDTVs iSymphony builds are in the 19-inch to 32-inch range, they do not offer any high end televisions or large displays. One of the top models offered is the LED32iF50, a 32-inch LED HDTV with native 1080p resolution and LED backlights. It comes with a built in NTSC/ATSC tuner, USB connectivity for audio and picture playback as well as two HDMI inputs. With a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 it won’t win any awards, but the image looks great anyway. Bright and crisp colors thanks to a luminance of 300 cd/m2, no blur. The response time is only 5ms, well enough to enjoy games in perfect quality on this iSymphony HDTV. Certainly not the best HDTV in the 32-inch range, but at barely $400 a true value for money deal.
Another interesting pick is the LC22iH56, a 22-inch LCD HDTV with 720p resolution that’s available for less than $200. The specifications are the same as for the other model, just less resolution and LCD instead of LED. This is a great and inexpensive choice for your children for example, 720p is totally fine for watching television and enjoying their favourite DVDs. Comparable models from major brands cost quite a bit more and offer features not really needed for a secondary HDTV. For example, you children won’t need any Wi-Fi connections, access to internet media libraries or fancy Smart TV features. The LC22iH56 is simply a television, not more and not less. The image quality is fine, you won’t want to watch the superbowl on it, but that’s what the primary HDTV in your living room is for anyway.
Overall Rating: iSymphony HDTVs are a good choice for everyone who has a tight bugdet and doesn’t need any state of the art features like internet access, integration in a home entertainment network or 3D. No HDTVs to impress your friends with, but versatile quality displays at an extremely attractive price. You like smart deals and don’t need the latest technology available? Then have a look, you won’t find a comparable quality at the same low price with any other manufacturer!
